FC Hingen visits Morrells 14-16 March 2014

FC Hingen really looked forward to meet our good friends from Morrells again. In September we started with a good friendship, and Morrells had the time of their lives in Hingen. Tony, Scott and all the other employees did their ultimate best to enhance our friendship and really spoiled our FC Hingen team. We really need to thank you for what you did for us, your organisation was really fantastic and everyone of us agreed that this is a true friendship for many years, not just from the management but from all employees of Morrellls! Thank you so much and we look forward to meet you again in our township Hingen!

Our journey started on Friday morning where our local pub owner Stephanie give us a warm welcome with coffee and some Schröbbeliers. Our bus brought us safely to Charleroi-Brussels, and after a delay of an hour Ryanair brought us to Manchester. After picking up our luggage Morrells people were already waiting to entertain us. First an English breakfast and after that all luxury cars brought us to the fantastic Bredbury Hall hotel in Stockport. One hour later everyone brought us to the artificial football field nearby for the game of the year, which has been won by Morrells with 2-1. FC Hingen was happy with that so we did not have to bring the heavy cup back. We'll keep that next time...? The clubhouse at the football field was the start of a long and fantastic evening together, with UK meal number one, fish and chips, together with lots of pints. Taxi busses brought us to our hotel where many of us went to go asleep and others still had a long night with Jäger bombs to start with and ending with Wodka bombs.

Saturday started for many of us too early (bomb effects?), but this was necessary because the coach was waiting for us to bring us to to them Tenpin Bowling for a new competition between Morrells and Hingen. It seems like that the end result was again very close, but again in the advantage of the home players. The biggest event after that was certainly the visit to Goodison Park in Liverpool for the match Everton - Cardiff City which ended in a lucky but well deserved 2-1 (Tony's favorite result). All Hingen guys wore the newly created FC Hingen scarf and had a walk around the stadium, which was also very interested for the Everton fans. This all was fantastic and many of us will return and became an Evertonian toffie. The coach brought us back to Stockport after the game, and everyone should be prepared for UK dish number 2, Indian curry, which is not so well known for most  of our country boys. Nevertheless we liked it very much! Some of us were again very thirsty and others continued with the Jaeger and Wodka bombs in the bar and night club.

Sunday already the last day of our trip, first breakfast and check out and after that the party brought us first by car to the train station. The train conductor became one of our fans with our scarf and brought us to Manchester Picadilly where Neil was waiting for us to bring us to the pub together with Tony to see Liverpool winning from Manchester United. We couldn't see the last goal anymore because we had to leave to get the train to bring us to the airport. We could go straight to the gate to fly to Charleroi where our bus was waiting for us to get us back to Hingen where snackbar Tegelke and Stephanie from Café 't Hingen were waiting for us.

Everyone will have lots of pleasant memories, many photo's will be exchanged and will be available at this website, but also on our new page on Facebook, where already many players became friends with each other.

Thanks again for giving us this fantastic weekend. We look forward to be your host and can never beat what you arranged for us, but will certainly do our best!

Morrells visits FC Hingen - September 2013

We all had a fantastic weekend together on 14th and 15th September 2013 at the Hingen and we all look forward to meet you next year in the UK.

FC Hingen wins the first edition of the Morrells-FC Hingen cup in a very exciting but friendly game with 4-3. The score at half time was 2-1. Morrells was stronger in the second half and we know now why, you drunk more Schrobbelier than the FC Hingen team in the break. Of course the Dutch tea is no English tea with milk, so a Schrobbelier was better.

We had a fantastic evening together in our club house Café 't Hingen from the lovely owner Stephanie where we had a great dinner and lots of drinks and fun together. There was no doubt who would be the man of the match from both teams, this was our team manager Toine Meuwissen, who played the last 15 minutes and who brought good luck for FC Morrells. FC  Morrells voted Toine for best player on Hingen side and FC Hingen voted Toine for best player on Morrells side... Some players from Morrells were very glad that their favorite bus driver was there at 12:30 who brought everyone to the Roosterhoeve to see their beds. Some had a few more drinks to have some fun during the night.

On Sunday morning 10:45 Morrells had to be ready for the tilt car with tractor, including Alfa beer and Schrobbelier, who bought the Morrells team back to their new favorite spot in the Netherlands, Hingen where we had new surprises, a shooting clinic at Wilhelmina Hingen. Some of our friends thought this was a military game, but this is different at Hingen. We all enjoyed the great BBQ from our chef-cook Toine. After some more drinks, including the new future popular drink in the UK, the famous bus driver was there again at 17:00 who brought everyone savely back to Schiphol.

Have a save flight back and enjoy our memories. We will update this page on our website after we have more photo's, films or other updates. We look forward to meet you again next year in Manchester!
